Peter Moloney – Production Rider & Stable Jockey
Peter Moloney arrived to Team Murka from Waterford, Ireland in November 2008 for a three year adventure. Moloney started riding when he was just 3 years old and started show jumping at the age of 7.
Moloney’s primary role is to support Peter Charles in exercising all of Team Murka’s horses and assisting the Head Groom with all of the stable responsibilities. When Charles is competing abroad, Moloney remains behind to look after the horses and stables.
Moloney lives on site and is never very far away from his work or his passion. With an intended future as a professional show jumper, Moloney is excited about his opportunity to learn from Peter Charles, the current Irish show jumping record holder.
Other hobbies for Moloney include hurling, gaelic football, and football but he has not much time for other interests. Mornings start at 7:30 with mucking out and the day finishes about 5:30 with cleaning the tack. In the darker Winter months though, they finish a bit earlier and the longer days in Summer mean the days finish a bit later.
